Diabetes Type 1 and 2 : What is the difference?

Out one in 10 adult Human is of potential to be / have been diagnosed with diabetes.

For those over age 65, incidence of this dire health problem rises to one in four. Most newly-diagnosed patients (about 95 percent) have type 2 diabetes, a condition often preventable with proper diet and exercise.

But really what is type 2 diabetes? what is its difference from  type 1 diabetes?
